What is Chronic Stasis Dermatitis?

Maybe you already have stasis dermatitis and are aware of all the stasis dermatitis changes, and you are really just wondering about whether you have acute or chronic stasis dermatitis. It is very important to note the difference between these two conditions, so that you know which you have and are going to be able to go through with appropriate treatment.

You are not going to want to be dealing with one of these conditions in the same way as the other, so you are going to have to take the proper steps towards figuring out whether or not you have chronic stasis dermatitis.

The biggest difference between the acute and chronic stasis dermatitis is that your condition is considered as being chronic if it has lasted for six months or more, even if it does go away at some points.

Of course if you find that you do in fact have chronic stasis dermatitis, then the next step is going to be for you to figure out what the right treatment methods are going to be. Remember, the same treatment is not going to work for everyone and so you are going to have to be very cautious and make sure that you are choosing the right route of treatment for you, the one that is going to offer you the best chances of success.

Effective treatment of chronic stasis dermatitis is pretty much always the same, and involves making sure that you follow a comprehensive treatment plan that may involve anything from elevating the legs above the heart, treating congestive heart failure, or avoiding scratching, to taking an oral antibiotic if cellulitis develops and making sure that you get the recommended bedrest.

These are all going to be important aspects in the treating of your dermatitis and make sure that you come out of this with the best possible results. This is not a condition that you have to let rule your life, but if you want to be able to successfully deal with it then you are going to have to start now and not let it go untreated any longer. You want to deal with it right away and make sure that you are working with your doctor to get the best possible results.

Dermatitis can definitely be challenging to live with but you can get rid of it for good if you take care of it in the right way and then take preventive measures in the future.
